As you set out for a new year and a new you, start from the bottom up!  Those feet that you plan on using to run, cycle, jump, and Zumba yourself to pounds of weight-loss need to be cared for and protected.  Take advantage of the post-holiday sales and get yourself a new pair of athletic shoes to replace the old ones that you have used to mow the lawn for the last 2 years.  Athletic shoes wear out over time and as they do, this will change the way your foot functions in them.  Wearing a pair of old athletic shoes to work out can cause plantar fasciitis, peroneal tendinitis, stress fractures, Achilles tendinitis, etc.  Be sure to replace your shoes every 300-500 miles or 6 months.  Now get out there and shed some pounds!
