Thank you to all who were able to help! Your generous contributions to lPG's first-ever Socks and Crocs for Needy feet sock collection drive resulted in almost 1,100 socks and 62 Rx Crocs, plus 3 blankets. lPG presented these items to the Hoosier Veterans Assistance foundation of Indiana on Monday, December 28th, 2015 in Indianapolis. HVAF of Indiana is a non-profit organization that provides comprehensive services for homeless veterans and the prevention of homelessness for at-risk veterans.
What began as an simple idea from two of our medical assistants, Erin and Mathew, evolved into a huge team effort among our 7 offices to collect at least 1,000 pairs socks and shoes for homeless Hoosier veterans and families, as a way to give back to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for their community and country.
Those experiencing homelessness often have very poor foot health, which can lead to life-threatening conditions, even death. Educating the public on proper foot health is important because not many people realize the significant impact inadequate socks and shoes can have on one's foot health and overall health. It is our hope that each contribution will positively impact lives, feet and toes right here in central Indiana.
