What is onychogryphosis?
Onychogryphosis is a toenail disease where one part of the nail grows faster causing an abnormally thick and deformed nail. The nickname for this disease is Ram's Horn Nail because the nails are thick and curvy, like horns.
There can be a variety of causes for this condition, however treatment centers around the actual cause. Wider shoes, debulking the nail, and use of softening agents may be successful. In some cases, the nail should be permanently removed.
