The vast majority of people looking to get fit are trying to at least lose some weight. If you are among those trying to lose weight, coming up with a plan is essential. You need to know exactly how much you weigh, how much you need to lose, and how much time you would give yourself. Losing too much weight in a short amount of time can lead to serious health problems. Ideally, you should consult with your healthcare provider before embarking on any weight loss program. While at your doctor’s office find out what your BMI (body mass index) is and what it needs to be. Once you have all this information consult a dietician or a nutritionist regarding a balanced and healthy diet. As you may already know, the only exercise may not result in weight loss or physical fitness and the importance of a healthy and balanced diet cannot be overlooked. 

A healthy and balanced diet plan should at least include vegetables, fruits, low-fat dairy products, whole grains, and lean meat. Try to stay away from saturated and Tran’s fat and added sugars. Also, control your sodium intake. Losing weight and being physically fit is not a sprint it’s a marathon and it takes time, so be patient!
