“set your piggy’s free” But proceed with caution!

Use Caution when going without shoes and exposing your “Barefoot”

It’s hot and sometimes you want to “set your piggy’s free” but proceed with caution. Walking barefoot increases your risk of picking up not so friendly acquaintances like viruses which cause planter’s warts, fungus which causes athlete’s foot even in the non-athlete, and bacteria which can cause skin infections. Not to mention cutting your foot on glass which can get you a free trip to the ER for some suturing up, which, as it turns out, is not so free but can be very expensive.  As mentioned in previous blogs, don a good supportive sandal and if you have a no shoes indoor rule at home, consider keeping a pair for inside use only.  Rubber bottom slippers work great.
